The Wellington-Manawatu Railway.
Wellington, March 16tb.
All the maps, plans, &c. for the Wellirig-ton-Manawatu Railway are now finally approved by both parties, and the seal of jfche Colony will be affixed to the contract at the Executive Council to-morrow after the contract is signed and sealed by the Company. To-day 10 gentlemen,- who held > from 300 shares e^ch downwards in the first issue' of 110,000 shares at £5 each, agreed to increase their subscriptions towards the second issue by making their total 2000 shares each, or £100,000 between the 10. It is believed that within the next day or two several other shareholders will similarly increase their subcriptions, and immediately the contract is sealed work will be commenced at both ends of the line.
