Land Board.

The ordinary meeting of tho Land Board was held on Wednesday, when there were present : Messrs Green (chairman), Duncan, Bradshaw, and Stout.

BLAOKSTONE.

Consideration of an application by R. Johnston to purchase 50 acres on Run 227, around his present residence in block VI, Blackstone district, was deferred. E. A. Withers applied to purchase 49a Or 14p at Rough Ridge, Blackstone survey district, under section 66 of "Tho Mines Act, 1877." — Granted if approved by the Governor.

BENGER. Messrs Cargill and Anderson requested a rehearing of their application to purchase 460 acres on the run west of section 3, block VII, Benger district.— The Board could not_ see its way to alter the decision previously arrived at.

BUSH LAND.

R. Finnic applied for five acres as a bush' area iat the head of Lake Wakatipu. Messrs Russell and Ewing also applied for a license for 20 acres farther up the river from their pre. sent, workings at Matukituki.— The Ranger recommended that the former should be granted for five years at £1 per acre, and the latter for three years at 10s per acre.— The recommendation of the ranger was adopted.

TUAPEKA EAST.

The Warden at Lawrence forwarded an application by Qui Hing to purchase a small area in block XX, Tuapeka East, on which his hut is erected, and recommended that the whole Chinese Camp should be surveyed and sold. — The Chief Surveyor was instructed to make a survey.

TAPANUI.

Ranger Hughan was appointed as appraiser to value the improvements effected by the recent lessee on Runs 140 a and 140b, Tapanui.

EAST GOBE.

An application from several persons that all unsold land in East Gore suburbs should be opened on deferred payments, and that the prices should range from 20s to GOs per acre, was declined.

MANIOTOTO.

An application by J. Moore to_ purchase 320 acres on Run 219, Maniototo district, was declined.

MAEREWHENUA.

On the application of the Inspector of Police, Dunedin, it was decided to set apart 10 acres of reserved section 15, block IV, Maerowhon.ua district, as a police paddock.

SWINBURN,

The residents of Kyeburn requested that the proclamation sotting apart sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 16, block IV, and section 1, block V, Swinburn, should be revoked, and that tho land should be opened for _ sale at £1 per acre. — Referred to the' District Land Officer to report.

TUAPEKA WEST.

A rural deferred-payment application for section 20, block 11, Tuapoka West, by E. M'Ewen, was granted.
