Mr W C Yuille submitted the Lurline colt to auction on the 17th ult., but as the offers did not reach the reserves his owners preferred to race him, and brobably he will go into Heywood's stable. The Warnambool Grand National Steeplechase, of 250 soys, was won by Mr M, Moran's Gazelle, Bst 10lb, beating three others. . . Dennis Sullivan, a trainer at Flemington, acci-, dentally shot a man named Walter , Sullivan while 11 larking" with a revolver. The Wounded man is not expected to live. . ..,,.,' From a report af the first day s racing at Adelaide, I gather that Progress won the St. Leger Very easdy, in 3 mm. 225., his only opponents being Trevallyn. and Crystal. The Park Handicap was won by Pawn-, broker (7st 71b).
