TOKOMAIRIRO COURSING CLUB.
{FKOM OUB OWN OOBBESPPNDBNT.) Jl , ' Tokomaibiro, May 2nd. . The'first coursing meeting under the auspices of the Tokomairiro Club commenced under favourable circumstances this morning. There we're 19 entries for the Derby Stakes. A start was ' made in Mr Grey's paddock; near the Milburn station, , No less than 10 hares got away before the first slip was obtained, the dogs being young and very difficult to get them sighted- The management was anything but satisfactory, and iv, oonsequen.ee many hares got away that otherwise would have given good eport. Only sik courses-have as yet been decided, g.nd the decisions have given general satisfaction. The following are the results so for ;—

M'Laren's w brd b Peri, by Onoga— Miss Hutton, beat Mr J. Crosbio's r b Jenny Lind, by Donald — Connemara.
The course between Legerdemain and Little Nell was a very long one, and trying to the digs; and that between Lady Emma and Madge Wildfire was an eaßy victory for the former. The next in the slips were Ricochet and Magician, slipped to a strong hare, and the former led for a good distance by 10 or 15 lengths. The hare ultimately crossed the railway, and Magiciau refused the fence. Ricophet had a very hard course all by hjmEeJf, which resulted in a no-course. They were' again put in the slip 0 , »nd no one was surprised that Ricochet was beaten, considering the severe gruelling he previously had. Chrysanthemum and Paddy had no Icbb than two no-cotn-Heß. Ihe'y were Blipped a third time, when Erin scored all the points, but unfortunately in fenoiog Erin got unsighted, and M'Donald's dog scored a victory. Guy Mannering refused the fenoe, and Gircfla followed pußsy through several paddocks and killed. To the astonishment of everybody Peri did w>% allow Jenpy Lind to BQore a single pofot,
