THE CATLIN'S RIVER RAILWAY.
TO THE EDITOK. SIR,— A short time ago tho Wetherstones ' Cement Gold-mining Company called for tenders for the supply of 2000 mining props, to be delivered in Lawrence— size, 6 inches small end; lengths, 6, 7, 8, 9 feet. At least a dozen tenders were received, so that there was keen competition. The lowest tender was accepted — amount, L 6 103 per 100. The above is an undoubted fact j so is this : If the Catlin'B River was made as far as G-lenomaru Bridge the same description of props could be sent from Glenomaru Bush for L 5 15a per 100 ; and if the line was carried on four miles farther an unlimited supply could be sent to Lawrence for L 4 10s per 100. Perhaps some of your readers interested may note this and put in a good word for us, and help us to get our railway. By so doing they would do us a good turn, and themselves too.— l am. &c, A. Anderson. , Glenomaru.
