Fbiday, 6th August, cattle proclamation bill; The Hon. Mr WHITAKER gave notice to introduce a Diseased Cattle' Proclamation Validation Bill. BILLS. The following bills came from the Lower House,and wereread a first time :— Christchurch District Drainage Act Amendment Bill, Inch* Clutha Act Amendment Bill, Execution Against Real Estate Bill, and Taranaki Iron-smelting Works Land Act Amendment Bill. The Port Molyneux Reserve Leasing Act Amendment ment Bill was read a third time and passed. Tuesday, 10th August. first readings. The Diseased Cattle Proclamation Bill, the Crown Grants Act Amendment Bill, and Otago Road Rates Validity Bill were read a first time. CHANGE OP GOVERNORS. The Hon. Mr WHITAKER communicated officially to the Council the coming change of Governors, He stated Sir Hercules Robinson had made arrangements for a lengthened stay, and was sorry to go, but could not decline the request that had been made to him. He was sure hon. members would regret the Governor's departure, for the relations between him and the Parliament had been most amicable. He believed Sir A. Gordon, who was now on a cruise among the Islands, rm>ht shortly be expected. BILLS PASSED. The Public Health Act Amendment Bill, Oamaru Waterworks Act, 1875, Amendment Bill, and Invercargill Drillshed Site Bill were read a third time and passed.
