Waste Lands Board.

The weekly meeting of the Land Board, held on the 4bh, was attended by Mr J. P. Maitland (chairman), and all the members. The following business was transacted ; — WAIAtT. An application by William Chirm for a pastoral license over 7000 acres oa the west of Waiau River was adjourned for a week. OTEPOPO AND KUROW, Three sections in block VIII, Ofcepopo, and seven sections in block I, 11, and 111, Kurow, were reduced in upset price to 25s aud 21s an acre, and ordered to be offered at auction. HAMPDEN. The Ranger having reported relative to the petition of residents at Hampden as to timber-cutting in the bush, it was resolved that he be authorised to issue licenses to out fencing and firewood over areas up to five acres when he considers same advisable from state of bush. OROOKSTON. Ranger Hughan having reported on the petition of settlers at Orookston that seotion 3, blook XI f, be reserved as a camping' ground, to the effect that the ground wa9 unnecessary for the purpose, the B>ard resolved to offor the seotioa by auction at £2 per aore. BANKLEBT/RN. William Cummings waß granted an application for the lease of 30 acres of bash at Rankleburn, WAIKOUAITI. James Ritchie applied to purchase seotlona 74 and 75, block 11, Waikouaiti, temporarily reserved for road-metal and bush. — Referred to the Ranger for report;. AGBICULTURAIi LEASES. P, Kerin was granted leave to surrender his agricultural lease ovor sections 76, 77, and 78, block VIII, Shotover. The application of Charles Stirling to exchange agricultural lease over seotion 3, block I, Weu don, for deferred-payment license was granted. DEFERRED PAYMENTS. The following applications for deferredpayment leases were approved :— J. A. Wryatt, section 16, block 111, Kingston ; James WhitburD, »ections 12, 13, and 14, block 11, Dart district ; James Davidson, seotion 13, block I, Swinburn j Andrew White, section 15, blook I, Swinburn. James Muir was informed that the Board had no power to comply with his request to purchase section 2, block X, Leaning Bock, or to group it with his former purchase, being section 9. The following applications to purchase were approved ; — David Smith, sections 39, 67, and 81, block IV, Shotover j John Bushe, section 29, block IX, Waikaka ; John Crossan, sections 5 and 6, block I, Teviot ; Peter M'Ksnzie, section 19, block VI, Waikaka ; Isabella Headeraon, sections 9, 10, and 12, blook I, Wendon. The following deferred-payment pastoral applications were approved :— James Prentiue, section 6, block X, Table Hill ; John Rosej section 21, block VII, Tuapeka East ; David M'Gill, section 2, block I, Tuapek* Bast; David Scott, section 63, block IX, Clarendon ; Kobert Gibson, seotion 2, blook I ; Dugald MEwing, section 1, blook II j William Gibson, section 2, blook ll— all of Silver Peak.

HAWBA. William Smith applied for b, jetty site on east side of the Forks Ran, Like Eawea. License ordered to issue for seven years, at L 2 per annum.
