GOLD DISCOVERY IN INDIA.
The new gold discovery in India is described by a home paper as follows : Within an area of twenty-five by thirteen miles, ninety outcrops were discovered of auriferous quartz from two to four feet thick, yielding from five penny weights to two hundred ounces per ton. The richer stone shows, when broken, fine and coarse seams, and jagged pieces the size of a pea. In gome of the reefs much of the stone will probably not pay for working j but it is believed that on the whole a very large and profitable industry will be insured with the aid of capital and good management. Wyond is healthy and pleasant for Europeans nine months of the year, but fevers prevail during three months.
