Sybnev, August 9 th. , A lot of sheep per Rotorua were advertised for sale here, but were not allowed to' land. The Government probably will resign. '' Sailed : Rotorua. , .

The Treasurer in the Assembly last night intended to move the House into Committee to consider the propriety of adopting a modification of the Pacific service ; but the discussion was interrupted by Sir J. Robertson's motion having reference to the position of the Government, who resign this morning or dissolve immediately.

August 10th. The Governor refused a dissolution unless supplies were granted. The Ministry have consequently resigned.

August llth. Mr Robertson is endeavouring to form a Ministry,

August 13th. The Suez mail ias arrived at Adelaide. The news has been anticipated. Last month's exports to New Zealand were £329,600.

August 15th. The mail steamer Normanby has been stranded on the Queensland coast. All hands were saved.

The Chinamen who stuck up and robbed the camp at Palmer River took £200. The orderly in charge had his head,. and feet lashed to a post, and a rope tied round! his neck. His head was pat in a bag, and he was nearly killed. Two have been arrested. Melbourne, August 9th. • Arrived : Lusitania, e.s.,- forty days from London, with 360 passengers. Her advices, though late, are not of much importance. - August' 14th. ' Arrived : Ringarooma. The Arawata sails to-morrow.
