TAIERI COUNTY ASSESSMENT COURT.
(Before I. N. Walt, Esq., R.M., Judge.) An Assessment Court was held on Saturday afternoon to settle the amount due to Mr James M'lndoe, the County "Valuer, for services performed. Mr Edward Cook appeared for Mr M'lndpe, and Mr E. C. Strode for the County Council.
Mr M'lndoe upon a stated account claimed the sum of LB3. After a sitting of nearly two hours, the result of various reductions upon the items was, that judgment was given for the sum of L 69 sa. The Chairman of the County, Mr Falton, then said that the claim would never have been disputed had the Council considered that he had satisfactorily performed his work, and that he had been offered L6O previously in settlement. Mr Watt said, he thought in assessing the amount h.e bad de%lt liberally with the, plaimant.
