DUNEDIN CURLING CLUB.

The " toft" weather of the preceding night unfortunately rendered the ice uufit for play on Saturday, consequently the competition for the medal presented by a member of the Clnb did not come off. We fear that the frost has now broken, and that those enthusiastic votaries of the "roaring game" who have been on the pond at 8 o'clock morning after morning for the last ten or twelve days, "stanes and besoms and a'," must wait the advent of another winter before again enjoying their favourite pastime. It may be interesting to our readers to know that the season began on Tuesday, 24th ult., and that tbe ice continued keen, and play waa going on every day (Sunday, of course, excented), np to Saturday morning, 4tb inst. We believe that there are few Clubs in Scotland which had inch an uninterrupted succession of playing days last winter. The medal pres rated by the Royal Caledonian Clnb was competed for on Saturday, 28th ult, and was won by Mr A. Stewart, with 14 points, Mr Calender being second with 13, and Messrs M'Neill and Lathbury equal for third honours, with 10 points each. The Club now consists of 53 members, 10 new onet^ having joined this year. Mr W. D. Muriflon is President, Mr James Anderson Vice-President, and Mr Thomas Qallender

Secretary and Treasurer. The Club are to De congratulated upon having so susceesfully established a national game, and trust that they may go on and prosper, and be able to build another rink alongside their present one before next season, for the accommodation of their increasing numbers.
