ROSLYN COUNCIL.
The above Council met at the District Hall, Roslyn, on the 27th, when there were present: The Mayor (Mr Kilgour), and Messrs Curie, Lambert, Ross, Ferguson, Haggitt, Wales, and Jack. A letter was received from Mr Win. Christie, in reference to the road in Selkirk.— lt was referred to the Works Committee, with power to act Mr Haggitt reported, on behalf of the Committee appointed to draw up bye-laws, that it had not yet had the opportunity of , meeting to consider the matter. Mr Haggitt proposed, and Mr Ferguson seconded — " That the Mayor he instructed to prepare the lease between the Corporation and the Roalyn Institute, as formerly agreed upon, and t'uat Mr Hislop be employed for that purpose." It was resolved to ask Mr Samuel] Green to proceed forthwith with the collection oi the dog t r mr. A letter was received from Mr Barcham, drawing attention to damage done to certain fences. — The matter was referred to the Works Committee. A circular from the Linden Secretary, re ponds, was referred to the Works Committee. After a few other unimportant matters were dealt with, the Council adjourned.
