THE DAVENPORT, DAVIES AND FAY, COMBINATION, COMPANY.

This' company having during , their first engagement drawn frill houses, have enteredupon a second, «nd are meeting ; with .equal success. The wonder as to "how it is done", is just as great as ever, as it appears that no matter how the Brothers are tied, they manage to get free. The coat trick, too, of Professor Fay, is equally mystifying. The Davenport Brothers and Fay have been before the public about twenty years, during which time they have travelled nearly aU' over the world. In times past they at? tributed their manifestations to spiritual influences, but having been subjected to per-, secution for so doing, they now leave their audiences' to draw their own conclusions. Whatever the agancy may be, the performances are most extraordinary. As to- Mr Davies,, his ventriloquism alone ia a good entertainment.

At the, conclusion of the ventriloquial portion of the entertainment at the Theatre on Wednesday, Mr Davies stated that it would be seen from this day's papers that the Davenports' and" Professor Fay had accepted Capt. Barry's offer to bet £50 that he would tie them so as that they could not free themselves. Mr Davies proceeded' to say that any one who gave such a challenge' as Capt. Barry should either " put up or shut up." The Captain subsequently asked Mr Davies if his challenge had been accepted. Mr , Davies, said that it had, and assured the Captain that they wouli have the pleasure of drinking his health with a portion of the £50. which he would lose.
