PRESBYTERIAN UNION.

On the 15th of June the Presbyterians of the Dominion of Canada united iato one Church, embracing 700 ministers and congregations, 100,01)0 communicants, aud 500.000 adherents, and extending from Newfoundland to British Columbia. The four Churches which united were the Canada Presbyterian Chwcb, the Synod of Canada in connection with the Church of Scotland, the Synod of the Lower Provinces, and the Synod of the Maritime Provinces. There wss an attendance of about 900 ministers and eldfi.s, and 5000 people. The Hey. Dr Cook was unanimously elected the first Moderator. Congratulations were received from the Assembly of the Irish Presbyteiian Church, the Assembly of the Presbyterian •Church of the United States, from the Montreal Diocesan Synod, aud th« Quebec Diocesan Synod of tho Episcopal Church, and the Methodist Conference. The greetings of the Montreal Diocesan Synod were by Bishop Oxenden, the Metropolitan, in person, and those of the Assembly of the American Presbyterians by Dr Ormsby and others. The United Church has four colleges, with fully equipped theological faculties. On the first Assembly all was delightful, breathing the spirit of devn. tion to God and love to the far-extending brotherhood.
