MR RYLEY AND THE EPISCOPALIAN CLERGY. TO THE EDITOR.

Sir — As I ohseive some strong observations weie made by the Rev. Mr Ry ley, founded upua an allf yed tid, of discourtesy on tho part of tlia clergy of the English Church, in not having replied to (v communication upon the subject of Sabbath observance, permit me to make uso of your columns to si\y that the remarks alluded to are the first intimation which has reached me of any such communication having been made.

My connection with this diocese only dates from June, 1871 ; but as the railway has been opened siuoe that date, I can hardly imagine the reference to be^to any anterior correspondence.

By giving early insertion to this you will greatly oblige — Yours, &c,

S. T. Dunedin.
