THE SUEZ MAIL.
The mail steamer Pera was delayed by head winds and heavy seas. She brings a number of passengers, including the following :— For Lyttel ton— Mr J. S. Warner, Mr Braly. For Napier—Mr W. S. Campbell and Mr W. Rankin. For Dunedin— Mrs Pillaus, two daughters, and Mr H. S. Pillans. She brings papers to the 2Sth November. The items of news have beeu anticipated. Rohnan Hunt's picture of "The Shadow of Death " has beeu bought for £10,000.
The Telegraph Companies announce a reduction of charges on messages to Australia, India, and China. Garibaldi improves in health, but continues a cripple. The Vienna Exhibition is a commercial failure ; the deficit is £336. 000. Bazaine, at his trial, denied having betrayed France, but declined to appeal against the sentence.
