The engagement is announced of Lucy Edith, daughter of Air. and Airs. H. R. Vile, Paraparaumu, to Colin Raymond, second son of Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Smith, St. Andrews, South Canterbury.

Mrs. Dowsett, who has been in Otaki for the past 12 years, during which time she has made hosts of friends, has sold her business to Mr. and Mrs. Baker, popular residents of Wellington, who take over on the first of February. Mrs. Dowsett, who intends to retire to live in Auckland, will leave Otaki at the end of February-.
