OBITUARY.
MRS. CLEM TIDY, AGED 71 YEARS. The death occurred very suddenly on Wednesday last of Mrs. Udy, wife of Mr. Clem Udy, a well-known and highly respected resident of Waikanne. The late Mrs. Fdv went by car to the Wairarapa to attend the hist birthday ol her oldest grandson, Mr. Bruce Drysdale, and at the time of leaving was in perfect health and made jocular remarks on the journey and even after alighting from the car. Shortly after arrival Mrs. Udy became ill and medical attention was immediately secured, but despite all skill and attention she passed away a few hours later. The late Mrs. Udy was the daughter of the late Mr. John Waterson, and was a great favourite with all, her genial and kindly disposition earning her many friends. She was the granddaughter of the late Mr. Burling, the G.O.M. of Waikanae, and was born in Matarawa some 71 years ago. She had resided practically till her life in the Wnirarapa but for the past seven or eight months had lived at iiaikanuc, where she made many friends by her cheerful disposition. Much sympathy is li-lt for the bereaved husband and familv of eight—four sons and four daughters, all living. There are 32 grandchildren. The funeral took place on Friday, when there was a representative attendance. Much sympathy from far and near has been extended to the bereaved.
