The ratepayers of the Horowttienuu County last week endorsed in emphatic terms, the Council's Main Highway construction policy, when they carried at the polling booths throughout tfie County, the loan proposals by more than a twelve to one majority. The result of Ihe poll must be particularly gratifying to the Council, the County engineer and the County Clerk—especially tq the County Chairman—who have devoted considerable time and trouble tq the perfection of a scheme which has been slated to be essential to the maintenance of me main roads of the district. Although the scheme is a large, one the benefits which are offered are apparent, and it will be a considerable help to ; the Council in the prosecution o.t the work, to know that they have the almost unanimous support of the ralepayers ot the district. » PUTTING THE WORK IN HAND.
