Southland League.
The monthly meeting of Ibe executive committee of the Southland League was held m Invercargill on Friday evening, when the following district business was transacted : The Wallace County Council wrote suggesting that, as the Minister of Public Works would be visiting Inveruargill shortly, a deputation consistingof members of the Southland League and Wallace County Council should wait on him m reference to the EivertonOrepuki Main Highway. — After some discussion it was decided to write to the Wallace County Council offering to co-operate with them m the matter, a sub-com-mittee, consisting of the president and Messrs Louquet and McChesney, being appointed to arrange any matter of local interest. It was decided to endeavour to arrange for the next quarterly meeting to be held at Otautau.
