TARANAKI TITLES COASTAL SUCCESSES Gaining’ 4 titles and several minor platings in the Taranaki Amateur Athletic Championship meeting at Hawera on Saturday, and finishing second to the New Plymouth club in points,_ Opnuake Coastal representaEves (a small team compared to New Plymouth’s entry) performed rery creditably. IT. Minhinnick won the 100yds senior title in 11 secs, and he high jump, clearing sft._ 2Jins. He was also placed 3rd in the 220yds. event :>fter winning his heat. Grant Cavaney also did well in the Junior Men’s walk winning the title, his time being 9m- 5T.2-ss. and gaining thud place in the 2 mile run. Another promising young competitor. Miss Marie Munro, won the women’s broad jump title, the distance being 15ft. 3in. Miss it. Campbell was 3rd in this event. Other placings were : —One mile senior: A. Fake 3rd: 880yds.: 11.
