HAWERA DEFEATED VINCENT IN FORM Opunake seniors, no doubt bolstered by tlie presence of Sorenson, defeated Hawera by 14 runs on the first innings on Saturday. Vincent again displayed a solid defence to top the Opunake batting with 32. Opunake opened well Pose (19) being dismissed with 28 runs up. Des Forges ' (16) also contributed a useful knock and with Vincent added 26 runs for the sth wicket. The innings closed with 95 runs on the board. -I. Cockerill (14) was the only early Hawera batsman to make a stand until Cropp (29), who was assisted by McClenaghan, looked likely to stay.
