SOCIAL AFTERNOON
REBEKAH LODGE SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION The social afternoon organised by members of the Star oq Nanmai Rebekah Ledge, in aid ef collar funds,, which look place in the Drill Hall on Saturday afternoon was most successful. a large number of members and friends attending. Sisters Mann, McSweeney and Fanil conducted a brisk sewing stall, for which all goods were donated and realised a sum of £l4. The produce and cooking stall, in the capable hands of Sisters D. Allan, I. Harvey and U. and E. Pirimona and G J Sinclair also ' raised approximately £ll. Sisters Wilkinson and E. Baylis were in charge of the lucky tickets, and Sister I'. Mourie was doorkeeper
Other members were responsible for a very dainty homecooked afternoon tea, which was served at the conclusion, Sister H. Aitken being, in charge. The following enjoyable programme was rendered during the afternoon: Sister U, Pirimona, pianoforte solos; Mrs. H. Smith, Humorous monologues; Mrs. -I. Coltart, Violin solos; Short Humorous Play: cast, Sisters M McCrone and M. Bowater. Mrs. D. Vincent was accompaniste.
A competition in which all present participated resulted, in Mrs. M. Wan and Mrs. J. Starck being- the winners. Several other competitions, prizes for which were all donated by members, were also held (see advert). As a result of of this enjoyable afternoon the funds of the lodge will benefit approximately £3O, a very satisfactory effort and the lodge wishes to thank all who helped to make the afternoon such a success.
