AUROA JUNIORS
ANNUAL SMOKE CONCERT GOOD ATTENDANCE The annual smoke concert__ of the Auroa Rugby Football Club in the Auroa hall drew a large attendance of members, supporters and guests from outside clubs. Toasts honoured were: Tara.uaki Rugby Union, Mr. W. P. Howard—Mr. J. Paterson; referees, Mr. M. Burke—Messrs. W. Gordon and C. Blair; Waimate and Kaponga clubs, Mr-. W. P. Howard—Mr. J. Paterson (Waimate) and Mr. L. West (Kaponga); coastal division and clubs, Mr. K. Lacey—Mr. H. Gilhooly (coastal), Mr. Stanley (Opunake), Mr. Phillips (Oaonui), Mr. Radford (Pungarehu), "Mr. T. Gilhooly (Rahotu), Mr. Tippetts (Pibama); Auroa club, Mr. C. Burke —Mr. W. P. Howard; St, John Ambulance Association, Mr. W. Ho'rgan—Mr! N. Corkill; artists, Mr. S. Jenkins—Mr. «.J. Black; ladies, Mr. J. Wadsworth; coach, Mr. D. Davey—Mr. S. Jenkins; owner of playing area, Mr. W. P. Howard—Mr. J. McCarthy; the chairman, Mr. H. Gilhooly— Mr. W. J. Howard. Items were given by Messrs. J. Black, G. Eynon, C. Blair, C. Nairn, W. Campbell, J. McCarthy and W. Horgan. Music for community singing was played by Messrs. Black (saxaphone) and J. Pini (piano). The Oaonui Junior football Club also held its wind-up smoke concert at the Oaonui Hall on Saturday evening, a good attendance of members, supporters and guests being present. A full toast list was honoured and impromptu items were rendered bv several present, a most pleasant evening resulting.
