PUNCAREHU ACTIVITIES RED CROSS BRANCH Miss N. Fleming presided over the bi-monthly- meeting of the Pungarehu Red Cross, Letters from Britain acknowledging' parcels were read and it was agreed to continue sending two parcels per month. Tlie president reported on the quarterly meeting at New Plymouth and asked members to send in books and magazines for the hospital and to do knitting and sewing for Red Cross headquarters. A house to house collection for Red Cross funds raised £2B. Woollen garments were donated bv the Warea Women's Institute for Red Cross parcels to England. Hostesses were Mesdnmes Mann and Vickers. Heme and School Meeting Mrs. J. Brophy presided at the monthly meeting of the Pungarehu Home and School Association when it was stated that the recent gala evening bad added £44 to the association's funds. -The president gave a report on the recent North Taranaki Federation of Home and Schools Associations' meeting held at Stratford, which four Pungarehu delegates attended. Mr. Parr, the headmaster, then showed two films on pottery making' and weaving. Mrs. S. Eaton presented a shoulder spray to Mrs. W. Bennet, wh©-a s leaving the district.
