ELTHAM FAREWELL

MRS. C. CATHEY

TO LITE AT PTJNGAREHU

The many friends of Mrs. G. Cathey recently gathered at the home of Mrs. E. It. Sulzberger, Mangawhero Road, to express regret at her departure shortly for Puiigarehu. The Mayoress, Mrs, D. H. Saunders, speaking for all present, thanked Mrs. Cathey for her wonderful co-operation, at all times in the many services she had rendered to the town with her support of women's organisations. She vvould be greatly missed in Eltham, but the best wishes of all would go with her and her husband. Mrs. W. Thornhill extended her best wishes, also mentioning particularly the happy relations existing between the Women's Institute and the Women's Division during Mrs. Cathey's-term as president. Mrs. Sulzberger then asked Mrs. Cathey to accept a gift on"behalf of all present as a smaJbrecognition of the many kindnesses she had shown. Musical honours were accorded the recipient, who, in reply, mentioned that anything she had been able to do was only made possible by the assistance of Mr. Cathey. She had to leave some wonderful friends in Eltham, but hoped they would make Puiigarehu their "half-way house" to New Plymouth. Mrs. D. Knuckey, on behalf of the gathering, thanked the hostesses, Mrs. Sulzberger and Mrs. H. Stanners, for the opportunity which enabled them all to gather in such a happy atmosphere to say "an revoir" to Mrs. Cathey.
