OPUNAKE PLAYREADERS’ CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING OFFICERS ELECTED There was a fair attendance at the Annual Meeting held in the Parish Hall on Monday last. Owing to other public meetings, a number of apologies were received, but indications are that public interest will be maintained, and a successful and interesting season is anticipated. The club is financially sound, and an outline of last year’s activities recalled many interesting evenings.. Election of officers resulted as follows ; President: Mr. D. M. Jillett. Vice-presidents: Messrs. W. I). Kichards and J. K. Somervell. Secretaries: Miss M. Martin and Mrs. Jillett, Treasurer: Air. 11. Piley. Producer: Mrs. 0. Erechtling. Committee: Mesdames Cavanev, Donnelly, Doug Watt; Miss Geary; Messrs. -P. H. Warren and Emmett McCann. This year reading and nonreading members will assist with supper, a roster being arranged hv Mrs. Johnston Last year’s programme of meeting on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month will be continued, the first meeting to he on the 23rd March.
