CHRISTMAS PARCELS
“FOOD FOR SMETHWICK” 58 FORWARDED An increased response to the appeal for Christmas Food parcels for dispatch to Smethwick the Opunake District R.S.A.’s adopted town in England was shown last Tuesday when 56 parcels were handled by the ladies of the Women’s Auxiliary. This brings the total to 351 parcels for 8 months—an average of just on 44 per month —a most creditable achievement, which far surpassed earlier expectations. The success of the scheme reflects great credit on all concerned and is a further heartening indication of the district’s keen sense of obligation to the people of Britain.
