ANNUAL MEETING DROP IN PRODUCTION A production decrease with a resultant rise in costs were announced by the chairman, Mr. W. C. Green, at the annual meeting of the Rahotu Co-operat-ive Dairy Company Ltd on Tuesday. Considering the season, the year's working cf the factory was satisfactory. Suppliers should do their ut« most to maintain production, be cause it was obvious that the average costs must increase with less turnover, he said. The decrease was 62 tons of cheese a.nd six tons of whey butter, while dairy butter increased' by 14 tons. Average total payouts with the addition of farm costs allowances were 23.763 d for cheese and 21.914 d for butter. Withoul farm costs they were 18.602 d for cheese and 16.749 d for butter. Messrs. W. BUTTERFAT INCREASE A good attendance of shareholders was recorded at the Annual meeting- of the Opua Road Dairy Company, which was held in Mr. A. J. Brennan's offices on Tuesday. The Chairman, Mr. G. Feaver occupied the chair.' In moving a motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late 8. R: Feaver, Mr. T. H. H. Sinclair referred to his work as a director of the company for many years, and the splendid services rendered to individual suppliers and farmers of the district. c 'Dur intake of butterfat for the past year shows an increase of 2 per cent in spite of the unseasonable weather experienced," stated Mr. Feaver in his report. The cheese make increased by 6f- tons, while 3,430 crates were exported as compared with 3,338 last season. Cheese graded finest decreased from 1,518 crates (45 per cent) in the previous season, to 962 (28 per cent). The final payment to suppliers continued the report, would be 18.4073 d per lb. fat, which' together with Farm Cost allowance already received, makes an average payment of 23.5813 d per lb fat for the season. The chairman concluded his report by extending sincere thanks to the Manager and Staff for their good work during the season, and to co-directors for their conscientious attention to the business of the company.
