JULY MEETING V.A. ' MEDALLIONS The July meeting of the Opunake sub-section of the Red Cross Sociely was held on Wednesday last. Mrs. T. N. Watt was in the chair. The June food parcel sent to the British Red Cross had' been packed by Mesdames Kerr and F. Hammond. Mrs. Watt read letters from British Red Cross headquarters, London, acknowledging the receipt of three food parcels, and stating that these had been given to ; sufferers in the areas devasted by floods. Arrangements were made to pack the July parcel, and also a case of soap and fats; each committee member having- brought donations. :• : Medallions for V.'A.'s had. been received -for the; following :■. Home nursing: Mrs. ;Es Hawkes; Mrs. 0. Frechtling, Miss IST. J. Watt; hygiene and sanitation, Mrs. E. Briscoe, Mrs. >G. Dobbin, Mrs. J. Munro, Miss G. Geary. Arrangements were made for members to attend a meeting at Hawera on July 24, where Miss Crooke, director of V.A.D.'s would be present.
