The Mayor, Mr. G. C. Glouston has intimated that he will not seek re-election at the forthcoming local body elections, but added that there was, a . possibility that lie might change his mind when the time came. Miss J. C. Allan., Pihanla, supervisor of arts and crafts at New Plymouth schools, has been appointed assistant" lecturer in arts and crafts at the Auckland Training College. She left on Friday to take up her new position. In moving a motion of sympathy with the relatives of, the late Mr. and Mrs. James Young, W. H. A. Wilson, It. L. Eustace, 1). Mqurie, the Chapman of the Oaonui Dairy Company, Mr. R. 11. Baylis paid a sincere tribute to the work of these pioneer directors, to whom the company <;wed a great debt of gratitude. The late James Young was chairman right up till his death, while the late W. IT. A. Wilson and D. Mourie both held office as directors of the company at the time of their deaths. Mr. R. L. Eustace was also a director for a number of years. Sympathetic reference to the loss of Mrs. S. M. Coombe's mother was also made by the chairman.
