FINAL CRIB PARTY

PRIZES AWARDED A good number were present at the final crib party under the auspices of the Bowling Club on Tuesday last when some close play resulted in the evening’s play, four breaking even with 7} wins and deciding to share the prize. Mr N. Reardon won the points prize with a total of 49 points over the past seven weeks. A savoury supper donated by Mr D. J. Peat was enjoyed, after which the juuior championship cup, donated by Mr A. D. MacLean was presented to the winner, Mr 1). J. Thomas.

Mr Dalrymple, after congratulating the winner on his success remarked on the keenness displayed by the junior members of the club each season, which he felt sure would be reflected m the club’s successes in years to come. Quite a number of first and second year players were seen at regular practice, resulting in their elevation to senior rinks dur ing the season. The junior championship had been solidly contested, some of the final games being fought out to the final head and all hoped that the new season would find young members as keen as ever to carry on. Mi Thomas said he was naturally delighted to win the cup in his first year as a bowler and intended to carry on with the game which he thought an ideal one during the summer months. - •

The runner-up,. Mr H. Parkes. was also the recipient of a useful trophy which he declared would be treasured and placed in a conspicuous place as a reminder ot some enjoyable games.
