TRIP TO THE EAST A most interesting and instructive talk was given by Mrs F. C. Hone, of Hawera, in the Presbyterian Church on Thursday last on her recent trip to the East, calling at ports in Australia, China and visiting Japan. Mrs Bone has a gift of vivid narration and for almost two hours gave pictures of her experiences, which at times were very thrilling. There was a represent* ative attendance. Mesdames Wea therhead and Trotter sang a duet, Mrs Weatherhead a solo, the accompaniments being played by Mrs T. N. Watt. Proceedings opened with the singing of the 100th Psalm, and concluded with a hearty vote of thanks and appreciation to Mrs Bone, and to her husband for bringing her to Opuuhke. Two verses of “Jesus Shall Keign Where the Sun” were sung and the benediction.
