The present year is likely to be an eventful one. Not only for our | Dominion but tor the whole; world. The establishment ox a Central Bank must have some marked influence on future banking, affairs. The report of the Tariff Commission is another economic "chestnut" that will have a definite pathway for comnvercialisls to work along. Whether it will be "thorny" or pleasant tor the business people tune alone will decide. A monetary Commission is to be set up. This matter is likely to be one of the most important problems that the Legislative has mooted, and the first time such a commission has been set up in this Dominion to probe and discuss. Thus it will be seen that these problems to be actively tackled will have an important bearing on our future welfare. They are also problems that cannot be pigeon-holed by political parties. The big problems of the world that cannot be put off ay} longer are armaments and war debts. A decision must be realised soon.
