THE OPUNAKE RACES
NOMINATIONS RECEIVED. QUITE SATISFACTORY. While the entries in the hack events are not too good, excellent fields have nominated for the Cup, Electric Hack and St. Patrick’s Handicap, to he decided at the Pihama race course on St. Patrick’s Day.
Some of the Cun entrants are amon<? the best in Taranaki and providing they accept, a groat race for the main event should take place.
Two and three dividend races should he the order right through the day and patrons are assured, with fair acceptances of a gpod day’s racing. The nominations are: —
Patiki Highweight Handicap; of £BO, nine furlongs: Joyspear, Tenacre, Royal Papa, Davistock, Day Lass, Calamine. Maiden Race, of £GO, six furlongs: Tenure, Headmistress, Wharaurangi, St. Clara, Ruapapa mare, Shillong. Rapper. Railway Hack Handicap, of £7O seven furlongs: Attentive, Merry Way, Glowlight, Royal Papa, Tenfcall, Davistock, Miss Cavendish, Illuminate. Opunake Cup, of £l4O. One and a-quarter miles: Richfield, Monaloff, Gibraltar, Carfex, Glowlight, Eastertime, Refresher, Tentcall, Ganpat, Chopin, Lucky Alice.
Electric Hack Handicap, of £6O. Five furlongs: Tenure, Merry Way, Sparkling Morn, La Crown, Wharaurangi, Illuminate, Forceful,. Cereal, Moatoa, Ruapapa mare, Shillong. St. Patrick’s Handicap, of £9O Six furlongs: Lady Quex, Monaloff, Green Linnet, Chief Link, Eastertime, Refresher, Richfield, Arvada. President’s Hack Handicap, of £BO. Nine furlongs: Joyspear, Attentive, Carfex, Glowlight, La Crown, Davistock. Farewell Hack Handicap, of £7O. Six furlongs: Amyril, Merry Way, Tentcall, Miss Cavendish, Illuminate, Forceful, Cereal.
