MIRACULOUS ESCAPE
FROM FLYING WINDSCREEN SHATTERED. . While returning in his car from Pungarehu, on afternoon, after conducting the services at the Catholic Church, jL Rev. Father Kennedy had a mir-P 4 aculous escape from serious injury. The accident occurred a most unusual manner, a stone about the size of a man s fist being thrown up from the back wheel of a car . travelling abofct two lengths in front. The stone hit the radiator, shot through the windscreem, and smashed its way through the window at the back of the car. In its flight it grazed Father Kennedy’s cheek, •removing the skin and causing a painful wound. There is no doubt that had Father Kennedy received the full force of the missile, it would assuredly have proved fatal.
