OPOTIKI WOMEN’S WORK SPLENDID RESULT The following list of comforts and goods, which have been forwarded to the National Patriotic Fund Board, Wellington, for the troops Overseas, shows what good work the women of this district are doing for the soldiery and British refugees.
(33 standard gift parcels (unaddressed). 133 Christmas gift parcels (unaddressed). 138 hussifs, (35 scarves, ■ 13 balaclavas, 18 pairs of gloves, 15 pairs of socks, (3 pullovers, G mittens, G cases warded by the Opotiki Lady Galway Guild.
Included in the knitted comforts forwarded are a number of articles made by the Raukokoro and Waihau Bay school children.
The National Patriotic Fund Board has advised that there are sufficient balaclavas on hand at present and that mittens, scarves and pullovers for the naval men are urgently required.
