ANNUAL, REPORT The following annual report was presented : Since the last report was presented 12 months ago there have been several changes, both on the committee and among scout officers. Air H. G. Simpson was appointed chairman at tho last annual meeting, and on his entering camp, Mr. I). G. Iteattie was appointed as his successor. Air. It. C. Brownie was scoutmaster, with Mr. E. Upton as assistant. Mr. Brownie found it necessary to resign for various reasons as did also the assistant scoutmaster. The committee was very sorry to lose these two men, but Air. S. H. Williams came to our assistance with the help of the troop leaders. Air. Williams would like to be relieved of this position as he feels he is not making any progress, and this is an urgent matter that should be dealt with at this meeting. Last November some 20 of our boys attended the annual rally Held at Tauranga under the care of Mr. It. Faijlknor and Miss J. C. Mountjoy, and from correspondence received afterwards from Air. Christian, our boys did remarkably well. The boys have turned out in full dress for several parades in Opot ki, including Anzac Day ceremonies, in which they were a great credit to their leaders. Centennial Exhibition.— Sixteen of the elder boys attended the Exhibition held in Wellington last January, under the leadership of District Scoutmaster, S. F. Miller of Whakatane to wluvn our thanks are due. 'Those whose boys attended will have heard all about the trip on their return. Both Scouts and Cubs have earned the praise of all residents during the year for the services they have rendered. They collected most ol the parcels on the day of the Lady Galway clothes drive. They have also been responsible for assisting dependents of soldiers who are serving overseas, or are in cam]). We were very fortunate to have a visit by the Commissioner for training, Mr. Cooksey, in July. Those adults who were fortunate enough to be present enjoyed the evening just as much as the boys. In conclusion our thanks are due to Mr. Williams, Scoutmaster, and also to Miss Mountjoy, who is doing good work amongst the boys. Thanks arc also due to Ah'. Stott for conveying tho boys at a reduced rate ; to Master W. Newell for organising a competition in aid ol the Red Cross, the proceeds amounting to £3 17s (id ; to Rev. Hampton for the use of his room one evening a month for the committee meetings.
