EXTEN S 1 ON .1 ’RO POSED At last week’s meeting of the Gisborne advisory committee of the Automobile Association (Auckland) the secretary, Mr. Geo. Grawshaw, stated that efforts had been continued with a view to securing an extension of the telephone, system in the Waioeka Gorge. „ All the information available had been sent to the association’s headquarters with a recommendation that the Postmaster-General be requested to favourably consider the evidence submitted and arrange, a through telephone service along the entire length of the gorge road. Iho informtaion supplied had made the position of the road clear, it being pionlcd out that the uncertainty as to. whether the road would be open and the present absence of proper means of communication along its entire route placed users under difficulties when making the trip under wot conditions.
