The Royal Air Force again attacked Berlin last night and also extensively bombed communications, oil plants and other targets elsewhere in Germany in addition to the invasion ports. An Air Ministry communique states: “Last night strong forces of Royal Air Force bombers attacked a munition factory in Berlin, electric power stations at Duisberg and Cologne, and oil plants at Sterwrad, Holten, Gelsenwirchen, and Cologne.” . The nightly onslaught by the 1 Royal Air Force on the invasion ports again shook the English coast. It is believed that Boulogne harbour and the big gun emplacements near Cap Gris Nez were selected for the most violent bombardments.
A Stockholm report states that adults in addition to children are participating in a limited exodus from Berlin. The north-west and north-east quarters are most exposed to British bombs. The nerves of residents of the north-west suburbs have been badly shaken. Many Berliners have evacuated their families. The evacuation of children began yesterday, due entirely to the Royal Air Force raids, which have caused a pfiblic sensation.
