From a humanitarian point of view, ambulance work whether m civil or military capacity, is one of the noblest and most sublime phases of human progress, because the. whole of it's aims and objects are to reduce the sum total of human suffering ; every facility should therefore be given to it's rapid developement. Every individual who contributes ever so little towards making life brighter by relieving and lessening pain, and by extending soothing sympathy m hours of agony, leaves this world so much the better for having lived m ..it When- this principle is fully recognised and acted upon, when the desire to do good to others, and to lighten their load of suffering, is inculcated into the minds of the young by teaching elementary knowledge, and practical ambulance work m the schools, another 'step m advance will have been gained towards a change, from the present sombre aspect of life, to a brighter hiie.
