NEEDLEWORK.

Towel (knitted). — The towel is knitted with white or unbleached braid, or else the No. 2. knitting cotton which is as thick as fleecy wool : knitting needles No. 3. Cast on sixty stitches knit back forty-three taking care if you use braid not to twist it in knitting. When you have knitted forty-three stitches take the needle out of the remain dor, pull them till they form a chain-3tii;ch only, and turn. Take the first of tho stitches now forming the chain, put it on the left needle, pass it over the first stitch only, so forming a loop, then knit that stitch and the remainder of the row. Continue to knit in plain knitting until you have knitted forty-two rows, and cast off.
