EXPLOSION OF GELIGNITE.

THREE LIVES LOST.

TWO WOMEN AND CHILD KILLED,

KING COUNTRY FATALITY,

TAUMARUNUI, June 15

An explosion pf gelignite involving the loss of three lives occurred at Tatu, eight miles from Ohura, to day, the victims being Miss Janet Lilburn, second daughter of Mr W. Lilburn, of Northcote, her sister, Mrs P. England, eldest daughter of Mr Lilburn, and Mrs England's infant son. It is stated that the gelignite was stored in Mr England's dwelling for use in blowing out stumps on the farm. An inquest into the fatality will be heM shortly.! Miss Lilburn and the child were killed instantly, while Mrs England lingered for several hours.
