MEETING AT WAIHI

A meeting .of delegates to the Goldfields Rugby Union was held in the Miners' Union Hall, Waihi, on Monday night. Those present were Messrs Silcock (chairman), Otter, Stewart (Paeroa), Callaghan, Walmsley, and Horn (Waihi). The Piako Union was not represented. Mr Callaghan gave notice with intention to move that the question of affiliating with the Sou.li Auckland Union be reopened. The inter-union matches were arranged as under :— Paeroa v. Piako, at Paeroa, June 26. Paeroa v. Waihi (seniors and juniors), at Waihi, July 10. Waihi v. Piako (seniors and juniors), at Te Aroha, July 24. GoMfields v. Thames (representatives), at Thames, August 7. The return representative match will be played on August 21 (provisional). Home teams will in all cases select, their own referees. The next meeting of delegates will be held at Paeroa on June 22.
