RIFLE CLUB.

FORMED IN PAEROA

A meeting of those interested in the formation of a Rifle Club was held in the Council Chambers, Paeroa, on Wednesday evening. Mr E. Shaw, the convener of the meeting, was m the chair, and he explained the steps to be taken to form the club. A requisition containing the signatures of not less than fifteen intending members has to be forwarded to the Defence Department at Auckland, all men who will be over 21 years ot age by the end of February next being eligible to join. The department will supply to each member each year 150 rounds ot ammunition tree and 200 rounds at a reduced rate. A rifle will also be supplied by the department to each member for £3 75 6d, which sum can be paid ofiHn three instalments. Those present signified their intention o! becoming members, and it was decided to also obtain the names of other intending members. Mr E. Shaw was appointed secretary pro tern to the club.
