METHODIST SOCIAL.

AN ENJOYABLE EVENING.

A very pleasant and enjoyable social gathering was held in the Druids' Hall, Paeroa, on Tuesday evening, the occasion being the celebration of the Methodist Sunday school anniversary. At six o'clock the scholars' tea was held, and needless to say the children did lull justice to the fare provided.

Afterwards a programme of musical and otherutems was gone through, Rev. A C. Randerson being in the chair. Short addresses were delivered by the chairman and Mr G. Hinton (who is to take charge of the church). The annual report was read by the secretary (Mr F. C. Blyth) and showed the school to be in a satisfactory condition. Numerous choruses were rendered by the scholars of the various classes, and proved most enjoyable. Other items were as follows : —Pianoforte solo, Gladys Adlam ; recitation, Ethel Casley ; solo, Jack Miller ; solo, Clara Morgan; recitation, Mavis Adlam. Miss Miller played the accompaniments on the piano in her wellknown accomplished manner,
