BOWLING.

A match is to be played for the Goldfields challenge stars on the Paeroa green this afternoon between Paeroa (holders) and Waihi (challengers). The Paeroa team will consist of Coote (substitute for Taylor), Pocock, Hamilton, and McWatters (skip), and Waihi will be represented by Williams, Samson, Vercoe, and Noonan (skip).

Next Saturday an inter-club match between Paeroa and Waihi will be played on the Paeroa green.

Karangahake had a good win against Paeroa last Saturday by a substantial majority. Most ot the Paeroa players were a long way below their true form, while the Karangahake men were "right on the job." Captain Bettis and Allan were the only Paeroa skips who were able to lead their teams to victory, while Hamilton only suffered defeat by one point. The Te Aroha Club's eighth annual tournament is to be played on January 2nd and 3rd next. Paeroa players desirous of taking part should place their names on the notice board in the pavilion on the local green. The match between Waikino and Waihi at Waikino last Saturday resulted in a victory for Waihi by 31 points.
