The first round of the Paeroa Club's full-rink competition will be played tomorrow afternoon, the skips ot the opposing teams being as follows : — Taylor v. Andrews, Bromwich v. Morland, McWatters v. Niccol, Pocock v. Dr Smith, de Castro v. Towers. Hamilton's team has a bye in the first round.

Kelly still" retains the Paeroa Club's challenge medal. P. Vuglar made an attempt on Wednesday afternoon to secure the trophy, but Kelly was too consistent, and he won by 22 points to 16. Shaw, Clews, and Taylor now have challenges in, so that Kelly will be kept busy defending the medal.

The first game this season for the Paeroa Club's challenge pairs trophies was played on Wednesday afternoon between Dr. Smith and Frogley (holdders) and McWatters and Harris (challengers). The challengers were right on the jack all the time, and eventually won by 25 points to six. Dr. Smith and Frogley only scored on three heads, getting a single, a two, and a three. Other pairs that have challenges in are Andrews and Clews, Evitt and Hewitt, Allan and Gadd, Bray and Cowles. The Paeroa team should have a good chance in the tournament at Te Aroha to-morrow for the Goldfields challenge stars. " Taylor, Pocock, Hamilton, and McWatters (skip) makes about the strongest team the Paeroa Club can get. Brown, Gahagan, Morrison, Dalton (skip); Te Aroha No. 2: Stanley, Somers, Wallace, Burton (skip) ; Te Aroha No. 3 : Barton, Hubbard, Sherlock, Mclnman (skip). The holders of the stars are the members of the Te ArohaNo. 1 team.

Paeroa and Karangahake Clubs play a match at Karangahake on Saturday, 3rd December. The match between Waihi and Paeroa, postponed from last Saturday on account of the rain, will be played at Paeroa on Saturday, 10th December,
