OMNEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL.

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the above Council to elect a chairman for the ensiling twelve months was held in the Council Chambers at noon to-day. Mr R. W. Evans (County Clerk) acted as chairman to the meeting. There were also oresent Messrs Corbett, Laugblin, Franklin, Marnnan, Strange, and Grace. Mr Strange moved that Mr Grace be elected chairman. In making the proposition he said that Mr Grace had filled the position ot chairman with credit to himself and to the satisfaction of the Council. Mr Franklin seconded the motion, which on being put to the- meeting by the chairman was carried unanimously. Upon resuming the chair, Mr Grace thanked the members, tor their renewed confidence, liisf year they had some vexed questions to settle, and he took the opportunity of thanking the members of the County for the consideration that had been shown to him and the harmony that had existed at all the meetings. This coming year there were some important matters to be placed befor the Council, and he trusted that the same consideration would be given to him as in the past.
