DESPOTISM IN OHINEMURI.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, - The whole thing has now been settled as to who the Liberals of Ohinemuri are to vote . for. The Liberal League fixed it up at the Criterion Hotel on Sunday evening with the Premier. All the candidates with, the exception of Drutnm and Jackson Palmer were crossed off, and now the Executive at Wellington has to decide who we are to vote for. The Premier is.-President of this League, and of course there is no reason why he should npfc favour Jackson Palmer, -iocing that tho latter has no other raiud but to slavishly do what he i« toLi by the learned Dr. Seddon. With regard to Mr Drunim's name being left on, it must be patent to all that Jiy reason why the name was not crossed off was simply to conciliate the Waihi people. Electors of Ohinemuri, the affair is, to put it in plain English, Bimply " rotten," and I sincerely hope that every man who has an opinion of his own, will resent such interference on the part of Dick Seddon and his satillites (especially of Paeroa) at the ballot box, by recording his vote in favour of a man who is not afraid to act independent of Seddon's frown. — I am, etc., Istoependent.
